A little help from a friend (or Friend)

We’ve been fiddling with the banner on our website, and we’ve been trying to find a decent color for our links. We’ve also been considering slowing down our quotes and doing various other small things.

Adam spent a long time trying to implement these changes, but we still have work to do because I’m not keen on the banner, as it is now, and I’m not keen on the pink links and he wasn’t able to do x, y, and z. Poor Adam: he spent all this time, and we’re kinda back where we were before.

Dreamweaver is the problem: its intricacies are cumbersome, which makes design changes cumbersome. Lee Capps (he’s in Avery 2) offered to help us out a while back, and while I’m averse to calling upon outsiders (he’s not really an “outsider,” but hopefully you know what I mean) for help (because I feel guilty, since we can’t pay said helper), I decided to email him, anyway.

I explained what we needed done, and he said he could work on these changes offline (how, I have no idea) and get back to me. Then, he emailed me a link which enabled me to see his changes (how, I have no idea).

I feel like a weight has been lifted.

There are still some things that need to get done – for example, we’re still trying to find the right color for the links. And there are things that won’t get done – for example, we’re not going to bother with the quotes because that’s a little more complicated and, quite honestly, Lee’s already doing enough for us, so.

Oh, and we still have to actually implement his changes. He said not to worry about this – that we’ll eventually figure out how to lay his changes over our Dreamweaver program. His most recent email explained how we can start to do so.

Adam’s going to take a go at it later today.

So why don’t we all just close our eyes and bow our heads – go ahead, place your palms together and tilt them toward the sky, if you must.

We’ll take all the help we can get.
